Itinerary

Introduction

DAY 1: Hanoi Arrival

You’ll be met & transferred to your Hotel. Today is a time to relax and unwind and to begin to discover this fascinating country.

Hotel rooms may not be ready until 14:00 but an early check-in would be guaranteed with a surcharge. The rest of the day is at leisure. Subject to your arrival time, you may want to venture out to explore the city on your own or join one of our wonderful optional excursions in and around Hanoi, such as a walking tour through Hanoi’s Old Quarter for you first impression of Vietnam’s capital city.

DAY 2: Hanoi - Halong Bay

Have breakfast and then check out your hotel.

Transfer to airport for Seaplane to Halong Bay.

12:00 Arrive in Halong. 15 minute full panorama of Halong bay from the height before landing. You will be welcomed on board of a junk cruise. Have lunch while cruising into the the magical bay.

Engage in interesting activities: trekking, swimming on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the sundeck

Late afternoon, visit a floating fishing village with an opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been living in the bay for almost three generations.

At sunset, kayak or simply take a bamboo row boat to discover a water tunnel with many coral reefs in a scenic lagoon. Back on board your junk, enjoy watching the peaceful sunset and later unwind at a restaurant with dinner served.

Accommodation: Halong Bay Cruise

Activities: Transfer to Halong by seaplane and embark on a cruise to discover the magical bay.

Our tour guide will not accompany aboard the cruise in Halong Bay. English speaking guide on board is available.

DAY 3: Halong Bay - Hanoi

Wake up in the bay with the sound of waves and birds welcoming the new day. You will have the opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. Your boat will cruise back to Halong Pier through spectacular karsts and limestone rock formations.

Transfer back to Hanoi by Seaplane.

18:00 - Hanoi After Dark by Motorbike

Collection at your hotel at 18:00 and have a full safety briefing at the meeting point.

Drive around Hanoi Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake and be amazed at the lively small alleys that are not even noticeable during the day. Take short stops for photos and learn about the history of the Old Quarter.

Ride around the city outside of the Old Quarter, where most tourists would not visit, past some of the majestic historical buildings before a stop to sip a cup of tea with some Vietnamese snacks. Continue driving past the Red River and the historical Long Bien Bridge to see the night life outside Hanoi’s Old Quarter.

Have dinner at an authentic Vietnamese Restaurant with simple but freshly prepared dishes which can cater for every taste.

Travel down a historical street and enjoy a Vietnamese traditional sweet desert before heading back to the hotel.

Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi.

Activities: Spend the morning exploring Halong Bay. Transfer back to Hanoi by Seaplane. In the evening, join "Hanoi After Dark" to experience nightlife in the city.

DAY 4: Hanoi - Nha Trang

After breakfast you will then be transferred to the airport for a connecting flight to Nha Trang.

Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. (check in time is 12:00; early check in is at surcharge).

17:00 – 17:30 Pick-up at hotel and transfer to Nha Trang Port for Sunset Cocktail and Dinner Cruise on Emperor Cruise.

17:30 – 18:00 Welcome aboard by the Cruise Manager followed by safety briefing and introduction to Nha Trang Bay, local people and local culture. You will then start cruising.

18:00 – 20:00 Explore Nha Trang Bay at night while having cocktails & wines on the sundeck as you are entertained by musicians playing against the stunning backdrop of stars, the moon, and the city lights. Experience the gastronomical pleasure of enjoying a 5 course seafood dinner onboard while being serenaded and served by the Emperor Cruises team.

20:00 – 21:00 End your romantic dinner by having drinks or cocktails at the lounge or on the sundeck.

DAY 5: Nha Trang

Have a memorable day cruise aboard the Emperor Cruise in Nha Trang Bay which has been voted as a member of the world club of beautiful bays. Nha Trang has been one of the most important tourist hubs of Vietnam with beautiful beaches, fine and clean sand, clear ocean water and mild weather all year round

08:30 – 08:45 Hotel pick-up and transfer to Hon Tam Port to board the Emperor Cruise.

09:00 – 09:35 Welcome on-board and head out to Mieu Island to visit the temple where local people come to pay their respects followed by a 30-minute walk across the island to see villagers going about their daily business. Then pay a short visit to the Tri Nguyen Aquarium before returning to the junk.

09:40 – 11:40 Cruise through the bay to the pristine islands:Tam, Mot and Mun, popular destination for snorkelers and scuba divers. Have relaxing time and you may opt for kayaking or snorkeling or scuba diving or just lazing around on the beach.

12:00 – 13:30 A sumptuous lunch is served on board as the boat drops anchor at Dam Bay on Tre Island

13:45 – 15:30 The cruise continues south to Hon Tre Island and Tre Beach, a wild stretch of sand with tropical coconut trees to take photos and go swimming.

15:35 – 16:30 Cruise through Vinpearl Land and catch a glimpse of the Bao Dai Villas on the way back to Hon Tam Port before returning to Nha Trang.

DAY 8: Nha Trang - Ho Chi Minh City

Next up it is Ho Chi Minh City, a dynamic city of 6.5 million that boasts Vietnam’s most impressive downtown skyline.

Domestic flight from NHA - SGN.

In the afternoon you have time at leisure to join in our city tour of famous landmarks like the Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral and Reunification Palace, and the central Ben Thanh Market.

18:00 - 22:00 - Saigon After Dark by Vintage Vespa

Get ready for the Vespa, where the tour launches into a street food adventure. Your first stop is at Café zoom to "watch the world goes by" (quoted by The Lonely Planet) and enjoy a cocktail and appetizers (inclusive) before adventuring into favourite local eating spots. You will experience the nightlife of Saigon the way locals do, all from the back of a vintage Vespa scooter.

The tour will start with a ride to part Chinatown and then heading to District 4 through busy streets and alleys to see the night life of locals and enjoy street sea-food and cold drinks, places that foreigners would hardly venture to. Leave District 4 for District 3 through downtown District 1 to a famous Banh Xeo shop to enjoy the specialty of Saigon, and southern food with the locals. Then continue to a hidden Vietnamese-style coffee shop to have a taste of Vietnamese music. Afterward venture to a lively bar to enjoy drinks along with live music.

DAY 9: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta

Full day trip to experience the Mekong Delta with Mango Cruise.

8:00 Pick up at your hotel and depart for a 1.5 hour drive to Ben Tre, famous for its coconut production and quiet, peaceful waterways. The journey will take you through the delta over the Rach Mieu bridge before reaching Huu Dinh hamlet where you will get on a Xe Loi (tri-motor cycle) ride to enjoy the lush view of surrounding rice paddies and fruit farms alongside the narrow village roads.

Arrive at the waterfront, board the charming Mango Cruise for a glimpse at the delta scenery. Make a first stop at a small brick workshop where the locals still use centuries-old traditional methods to make bricks by hand. Then your boat will cross the An Hoa River to Phong Nam where you will start a bicycle trip (around 4 km) with visit to a coconut processing household. Continue the bike ride through gardens to the next stop at a rice noodles factory to see how “hu tieu”, one of most popular ingredient for breakfast dishes in the region is made. You will then walk about 3 minutes to visit Mrs. Huong’s home whose family lives on fishing, shrimp and farming. Enjoy the tropical fruits and honey tea in her garden before taking a trip by rowing sampan paddled by a personalized rower to discover the maze of small canals.

Get back to the boat and head to Mango Restaurant for lunch. Freshen up then switch to a bicycle ride (about 500m ~ 4 minutes) on village roads past green gardens and local houses to visit another local house of Mr Sau Tuong, a former Vietcong soldier who survived two years fighting the Khmer Rouge in Phnom Penh. Now he and his wife live on making rice paper which is the most famous specialty of My Long village. Have a chat with him and enjoy the crispy rice paper made by his wife, and see how it is made.

Say goodbye to the hosts and take a boat ride to Ben Tre for road transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.
