With 3 days 2 nights Mekong Delta Tour, you will get away from the polluted environment and bustling city. You have a great chance to visit Cai Rang floating market which is one of the most famous markets in Mekong Delta. Furthermore, you can visit tropical fruits garden, enjoy famous local specialties in the domestic and foreign markets and visit Cham Tribal village.
DAY 1: Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho – Ben Tre – Can Tho (L)
Tour guide picks up at your hotel (Dist 1) then departs from our office to My Tho city for one and half hours by bus.
A smooth one and half hour bus ride passing the green rice fields leads you to the beautiful rural My Tho city. The morning trip continues on the motorized boat on the Tien River to the Qui (Tortoise islet). On the way, you will view the fishing port, stilt houses, boat-building workshops, the other Dragon, Phoenix and Unicorn Islet. The cruise will lead you through Bao Dinh canal to enter Ben Tre province, “the country of coconut”, to see a typical agricultural model call “Garden – Pond – Cage” then enjoy coconut candy mill and the relaxing honey tea. Then the amazing rowing boat trip on the small canal – fully covered by the shadow of the water coconut’s tree and cool breezes is something you cannot miss.
Lunch will be served right in the heart of the orchard garden.
Afternoon: We will walk into the village, visit fruit garden, enjoy the tropical fruit while you are listening to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music” performed by the islanders. Here we also can join the daily activities of the local people and enjoy the atmosphere of this beautiful natural countryside.
Your expectations will be fulfilled by final boat trip back to My Tho on the Tan Thach natural canal. Then you will continue to Can Tho by A/C bus in two hours, arrived in Can Tho city – the heart of Mekong River. From this point, you can choose your accommodation in one of the following options:
Hotel: Check in at hotel
Homestay: You will be transferred to the Riverside by “the King Local transport” which is a wagon pulled by a motorbike or horse. Meet the boat on the canal side to proceed to the Phong Dien village. Enjoy your nice dinner with your “Sweet Vietnamese Family”. Overnight on the wooden bed with straw mattress.
DAY 2: Can Tho – Cai Rang – Chau Doc (B)
Morning: After breakfast, you first take the boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River. The boat trip later takes you to the Cai Rang floating market, which is the most original ones and bustling places of the region. Have you tried the Vietnamese vermicelli noodle? So, you will go and see how it is made.
Lunch: You will trek along the village to get in touch with the local people. Here, you have a chance to experience how to pass a “Monkey bridge” which is built by only one bamboo. Leaving the village, you will go to visit Cantho market, have lunch there.
Afternoon: After lunch, our A/c bus will take you straight to Chau Doc. Arrive in Chau Doc, check into your hotel.
DAY 3: Chau Doc – Ho Chi Minh City/ PhnomPenh (B)
Morning: Early breakfast at the hotel, visitors take the nice motorized boat trip through the floating village to visit the fish farm and to see how the people in Mekong Delta raise fish in their floating house. Visit the Champa minorities with their traditional towel weaving village, have a look at their Muslim temple and the Arabic class for their children.
Afternoon: The boat will return to Chau Doc and our a/c bus will take you to Incense stick factory for a visit then return to Can Tho, have lunch there and then our bus will transfer you back Ho Chi Minh City, arrive at about 17:30. End tour. Say goodbye and hoping to you again.
If you want to get Phnom Penh:
After breakfast, transfer to a speed boat for the final part of the journey to Phnom Penh. Arrive at Sisowath tourist dock in Phnom Penh at around 14:00. End of services. Finish your Exit to Cambodia through the lower Mekong river. Visa can make at the border.
