Itinerary

Introduction

DAY 1: Hanoi Arrival

You’ll be met & transferred to your Hotel. Today is a time to relax and unwind and to begin to discover this fascinating country.

Hotel rooms may not be ready until 14:00 hrs but an early check-in would be guaranteed with a surcharge. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Subject to your arrival time, you may want to venture out to explore the city on your own or join one of our wonderful optional excursions in and around Hanoi, such as a walking tour through Hanoi’s Old Quarter for you first impression of Vietnam’s capital city.

DAY 2: Hanoi - Halong Bay

Have breakfast and then check out your hotel.

7.30 - 8.00 pick you up by shuttle bus. Drive to Halong Bay. It will take 3.5 to 4 hours. You will participate in fantastic 2-day Halong Bay cruise tour.

Upon your arrival in Halong, you will be welcomed on board of a junk cruise. Cruise into the the magical bay while lunch is served.

Engage in interesting activities: trekking, swimming on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the sundeck.

Late afternoon, visit a floating fishing village with an opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been living in the bay for almost three generations.

At sunset, kayak or simply take a bamboo row boat to discover a water tunnel with many coral reefs in a scenic lagoon. Back on board your junk, enjoy watching the peaceful sunset and later unwind at a restaurant with dinner served.

DAY 3: Halong Bay - Hanoi - Hue

Wake up in the bay with the sound of waves and birds welcoming the new day. You will have the opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay.

Your boat will cruise back to Halong Pier through spectacular karsts and limestone rock formations. Your driver will meet you at the dock for the transfer to Hanoi

Rest of the day at leisure to discover Hanoi by your way

21:15 hrs. Pick up at your hotel in Hanoi and transfer to Hanoi railway station for the night train to Hue (SE3 Unification Express, sharing 4-berth air-conditioned compartment).

DAY 4: Hue and surrounding

Upon arrival at Hue Railway Station (ETA: 10:35 hrs), transfer to the hotel (early check-in is not included). Leave your luggage at the hotel reception and start to explore the Imperial City of Hue at your own way

DAY 5: Hue – Danang – Hoi An

After breakfast transfer to Hue railway station for a short, but very scenic train journey via the Hai Van Pass to Danang (SE3 Express, 10:45 – 13:15).

Upon arrival at Danang railway station, pick up and transfer to Hoi An

Known to early Western merchants, Hoi An was one of the major trading centres of Southeast Asia in the 16th century. Hoi An has a mixed Vietnamese and Chinese atmosphere with low, tile-roof houses and narrow streets. Having been through many ups and downs in the past, the original structures, however, are still virtually intact. That was the reason to persuade the UNESCO to recognize Hoi An as a World Heritage in 1999. Besides, the surroundings of Hoi An, especially the countryside, are one of the most outstanding highlights that visitors should experience during their stay in Hoi An.

The train arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at approx. 05:20 hrs in the morning.

Leave your luggage at the reception and transfer to visit Cu Chi Tunnels (70 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City), an amazing complex of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War. There are more than 200 km of tunnels, comprising a main axis system with many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters and other tunnels. You have the chance to crawl through this amazing system of tunnels.
