Vung Vieng Fishing Village is located in the heart of Bai Tu Long Bay, 24km away from the mainland. The fishing village lies in a quiet, tranquil position with charming scenery. In addition, Vung Vieng is a place that preserves the typical culture of the fishermen who has lived in Halong Bay for generations. 

ABOUT VUNG VIENG VILLAGE

There are more than 160 people living in Vung Vieng fishing village, they have still preserved the tradition of a typical fishing village. If you are a tourist who loves the unique experience and indigenous culture, you shouldn't miss visiting Vung Vieng.
 
To get to Vung Vieng, you have to take a small boat sailing through Luon cave. Luon cave is the gate of the village and also a stunning destination for kayaking and taking photos. In the midst of the limestone mountains and ocean, the local daily life carries on peacefully day by day. Vung Vieng fishing village has only a few dozen roofs, all daily activities of people take place on small floating boats. Their life is mainly self-sufficient. Vung Vieng fishing village people do not have big boats to catch offshore. Their livelihoods are attached to a few small fishing boats, fishing nets to catch fish around the gulf, or farming fish to support their daily life.

On visiting Vung Vieng, tourists will certainly see firsthand the cultured sea pearls and fish farms which nourish countless species such as giraffes, sea bass, mackerel.
 

Go adventure

From Vung Vieng fishing village, tourists can visit Devil Face island (Mat Quy Island) or Bay Gieng area, go fishing in Vung Ha area, visit the primitive forest on Tra Ban island, Van Don ... and go swimming in the small beaches at the foot of Ngoc Vung mountain or Van Gio Island. These beaches are pristine and very suitable for small groups of tourists. You can also go for cave adventuring. From Vung Vieng, it only takes a couple of hours to reach Quan Lan Island by boat. Quan Lan is a rising destination which is famous for its natural beauty and ancient building with outstanding architecture. In Quan Lan, many archaeological traces have been found to prove the golden age of Van Don commercial port.
 
Vung Vieng fishing village is included in almost overnight cruise itinerary, otherwise, visitors can easily discover this village by kayaking or rowing bamboo boats.
