ABOUT TI TOP ISLAND
How Ti Top Island got its name
Ti Top Island is about 8 km away from Bai Chay Tourist Port in the Southeast. In the late 19th century, the island was named Cat Nang. On November 22nd, 1962, President Ho Chi Minh and a group of Soviet Union astronauts led by Gherman Stepanovich Titov visited the island. To commemorate that trip, President Ho Chi Minh renamed the island after the astronaut. Since then, the island has been called Titov (or Ti Top in Vietnamese) as an expression of the friendship between Vietnam and the Soviet Union.

Different from many other tourist destinations in Halong Bay, besides the beautiful landscape with charming nature, Ti Top Island also owns an alluring beach, called Ti Top beach. The beach with the shape of a crescent moon embraces Ti Top Island. All year round, the tides have washed sand and water here white and clean. In the cool breezing wind, when the sun is up, the water is so clear that you can see the small flocks of fish swimming, coral reefs blooming at the bottom of the sandy shore. Rocky cliffs and bushy forests surrounding the island create a harmonious atmosphere with nature.
